The GOP " gets it" now....... NOT!

Last week, the GOP appointed the first man of color, Michael Steele, to head up the Republican National Committee. You see, they'd like us to believe that they "get it" now. Too bad Mr. Steele is so far to the right that he's almost left. ( Hello, do we remember Clarence Thomas? Talk about conservative!)
I have often fallen under the gross misconception that people of color are automatically " liberal". Not so. Definitely not so in Mr. Steele's case. No, no, no, no, no. I don't care if he was purple with polka dots, he's an uber-conservative.
So, they pick a black man in an attempt to counter Obama, chose that idiot Palin to try and counter Hillary all in the vain hope that they will deceive the American public into believing that " they're different now".
Thankfully, over the course of the past few weeks, it is abunduntly clear that the GOP is very much the same. Particularly in terms of their best efforts to keep the economy in the toilet. They are sore losers who are doing the best that they can to muck up the stimulus package that Obama is proposing. The GOP had NO problem with a partisan Congress during six years of the Bush administration. However, they won't stop crying about it now.
They're disgusting and you should think so too. Obama had every right to rip into them, they're acting like children that need reprimanding. Yet, despite a public scolding and the loss of the last election, they still haven't learned.
Yesterday, I had both the pleasure and misfortune, of watching " Meet the Press". To my delight, I got to see Barney Frank rip some of his Republican colleagues a new one. To my horror, I watched and listened to both the Republican representative from the House and Senate spew the most audacious lies about the stimulus bill.
Let me clear up a few points for you. The GOP blasts the stimulus plan as employing too much spending. However, that spending is the only thing that will result in jobs. The GOP wants more tax breaks.Yet, for me, recieving a tax break of five hundred dollars per year does not create a job for an unemployed American. I doubt that I would even notice the extra money, and, if I did, it would go directly to pay down debt, not boulster the economy. Also, the GOP has NO problem with excessive spending, as long as it's in their best interest ( eh, hem... Iraq).
The GOP wants the stimulus plan to include the buying up of bad mortgages so that home-owners can manage to pay their mortgage at a rate of 4.25%. Even if they were paying 0% interest, that mortgage is not going to be paid at all if a home- owner has no source of income to pay it.
Lastly, the GOP claimed that we do not need to include money to the states as state budgets are currently " bloated". I can only speak for Massachusetts, but last time I checked, the job and program cuts have not stopped, nor do they seem to be anytime soon.
I have had enough! Even with a Democratic administration, the behavior of the GOP is clearly still not in the best interest of Americans and our economy.
I continue to wonder, when will they actually " get it"?
Unfortunately, probably never.
