Hmm.... isn't that the proverbial pot calling the kettle black...or a terrorist anyway.

Although I have always had my doubts about what factor McCain's age would play into his political performance. It is clear now that the man is truly delusional.

McCain has the nerve to "claim" that Obama will say anything to win. This is coming from the man who has changed his platform to suit national trends, how many times? I think that I've honestly lost count.

McCain is a man who dares to call American's his "friends" while all the while engaging in politics that have done nothing but harm Americans, both in terms of our financial security but also our national and military security as well.

Obama will not say “anything" to win. All Obama has to do is present his plans for office, plans that include relief for the middle and lower classes, government oversight of failed deregulation, intelligent insight into our international issues and the passion and commitment needed to lead this nation back to greatness.

McCain will not only say anything to win, but he'll do anything to win as well. McCain has lied, incited hatred in his Republican base, changed his platform on a weekly basis, make false and baseless accusations, distort Obama's tax and health care plans, and wallow in deep bitterness and resentment.

If “anything" is going to be said to win Senator McCain, I'd rather it be the truth, from you.

However, he's too busy grasping at straws for that.

Get the message out there.

It's bad enough when McCain and Palin address their devotees with the baseless accusations that Obama is a terrorist. It's worse when McCain's campaign makes thousands of “robo-calls" to voters claiming the same thing. But now, with a direct mailing that puts all of these ludicrous and vile distortions in print, it's just plain loathsome.

The Republican National Committee is distributing a mail piece that says "Terrorists" on the front and opens to a big picture of Barack saying "Not Who You Think He Is."

God, it makes my stomach turn.

What I want from a president is honestly, integrity, compassion and intelligence. The exact qualities that I recognize and respect in Barack Obama.

The virtues that John McCain have been representing have been deceit, distortion, hatefulness, ignorance, a complete lack of perspective of our nation's most critical problems as well as the lack of insight on how to fix them.

It this truly who you want in the White House?

Many of you probably have never even considered voting for him in the first place. You know what this country needs. You understand.

Now, make sure those McCain supporters who are near and dear to you understand as well.

You can make a difference in this election, even if it's just a simple conversation or debate. People who know and love you will respect you enough to listen.

They're all ears.

Somewhere between Sarah Palin calling blue states un-American and citing Obama as being a misogynist because he didn't pick Hillary Clinton for his running mate, information has come to light that this so-called " maverick" and "reformer" is actually a big spender.

However, dear readers, it is not her own money that she shells out, it's that of her dear tax payers in Alaska. Governor Palin's travel documents show over $20,000 of tax money spent on her children's travel expenses. These costs only include events at which Palin's children were not invited to attend. They also include stays at luxury hotels.

I thought Palin was going to fight against government spending not add to her tax payers tab?

It has been reported this week that the Republican National Committee has spent over $150,000 on Palin's wardrobe, accessories and make up. Governor Palin, I thought that you vowed to end improper spending? As this country brinks on a depression, do you think that it was wise for the RNC to spend such an amount? According to what you tell the nation about your penny-pinching, wouldn't you stand up and say “thanks, but no thanks"?

I didn't think so. However, I could care less about your wardrobe. It's not on the taxpayers dime, but what you have taxed your constituents on is concerning.

It actually goes beyond concerning, it's a bad omen. Your hypocritical spending practices are the quintessential actions that speak louder than the bullshit words that come out of your over-lipsticked mouth.

Think about it.

McCain was hot on the campaign trail this week in Pennsylvania, which is currently a swing-state. With a crowd of people anxious to hear about his plans to fix the nation's economic nightmare, the only thing McCain had to offer up was baseball.

That's right, baseball.

McCain has been " blasting" for Senator Obama for saying that he supports the Phillies in the World Series and then also making supportive statements to team members of the Devil Rays yesterday, in Florida.

McCain claims that Obama is " flip-flopping" as he does on other issues. Is this really what you have come to Senator McCain? It was bad enough that you made the loosest of connections between Obama and Bill Ayers look like they were in a secret, terrorist cell. Now, you have to resort to attacking the praise that Obama has given to the two "best" teams in baseball?

Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan responded to McCain's blasts with, "I guess these are the kinds of attacks you make when you have no plan to fix our economy. Senator Obama said he's rooting for the Phillies. He said nice things about the members of the team who came out to support him, but that doesn't change the fact that they bounced his White Sox out of the playoffs."

Pathetic.

As alarming as it sounds, we actually do share a common cause.

Recently, McCain has shifted his campaign platform, yet again, to call upon voters to "fight" with him. McCain's a "fighter" you see. What's that? Maverick? Yeah, he was or is a maverick too but apparently that title is drastically losing it's popularity, seen as how it's not true anyway.Therefore, McCain's genious and ever so disgusting team, has decided that for this week, John McCain is a fighter. Also, for this week, we need to stand up and fight with him.

I'm with ya' Johnny, I want Americans to stand up and fight too.

I am pleading with you, dear readers, to muster up all the energy and courage that you have to fight. Firstly, you need to fight against an administration that has brought this country to near ruin. To win this fight you see, you'd have to vote against John McCain because he is only a perpetuator of the same, failed policies that got our country into this mess in the first place.

When you're done with that battle, I'd like you to then fight against the smear campaigns that McCain and his campaign have ruthlessly employed. Fight against McCain and Palin who are inciting the rage of the most deeply-rooted racists in the country. Fight against their tactics to play into the worst fears of the most ignorant people in the country.

You can conquer this fight by simply getting informed about the baseless and inflamatory accusations that McCain and that God awful woman, Sarah Palin, have been blowing all around our dear country. When you are armed with information, you can overcome any nay-sayers perspective.

Don't worry about appearing too "opinionated", rude and/or argumentative. Sitting back and listening to your co-workers, friends and family regurgitate the McCain bullshit is a forfeit. Inform them, inspire them, enlighten them. Most of all, fight with all that you've got to bring them to our cause.

Lastly, I am desperately pleading with you to fight against yourself. Don't let your fears, stereotypes, misconceptions and judgements about electing a man of color into the White House cost Barack Obama the election. You may think that you're the only one who has your doubts, and therefore it doesn't matter. But, I hate to inform you, over 30% of white Democrats feel the same way.

Losing that fight with yourself will cost both you, and the nation, dearly.

Fight the good fight, I know you have it in you.

Hey Senator McCain, how does it feel to know that one of the most respected members of your party, Colin Powell, endorsed Barack Obama this morning?

I bet it feels pretty shitty. Yep, pretty shitty to know that such an intelligent, admired and dedicated Republican thinks that you, Palin and the rest of the cluster-fuck that is the Bush administration, needs to go!

If you really believed in putting our " country first" you would realize that the first thing that this country needs is a drastic shift in government, one that Barack Obama can bring to us. You see your distorted idea of our country is that it should be one that is deeply bitter and divided. Your campaign has been making massive " robo-calls" in swing states in which your representatives tell listeners that Obama is a terrorist.

Is that putting country first? No, it's more like lying first in a desperate attempt to play into the worst fears of Americans and, in turn, bring out the worst in them.

You will do anything to win at this point. Lie, distort, change your platform every week and recently, inspire and encourage deep hatred from your political base.

You, Palin, your campaign and the Bush administration are pathetic. You are the antithesis of what this country needs.

I know it, Colin Powell knows it, and hopefully the rest of the country will by November 4th.

Come on, if the Red Sox can come from behind, like they did last night, Barack Obama can definitely be elected our next president.

An Obama supporter since his key-note speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, even I had doubts about the nation's ability to recoginze his integrity, intelligence, experience and qualifications to lead this country out of the dark ages that the Bush administration has led us into over the past eight years.

My heart swelled last June when Obama won the candidacy. I, like Michelle Obama, felt proud of my country. The same country that broke my heart when they elected George W. Bush, at least in 2004 anyway.

However, with the knowledge of the disastrous state of our nation and its bleak future if McCain is elected, Obama should be leading by a landslide. What accounts for this difference? Race of course.

It blows my mind that white Americans can still be so deeply entrenched in their close-mindedness and prejudices. Is clinging to your baseless stereotypes and fear of change more important than letting this country go down the toilet?

Wake up! McCain will bring this country into ruin! If you don't think so, then look at what George W. Bush has done to our country. McCain has supported 90% of his failed policies and has not offered policies that vary from the Bush idealogy.

I believe in Barack Obama. I believe in the Red Sox. They were both underdogs, they both came up from behind.

They can both win this year.

However, not without your support.

Seriously, did you see the debate last night? Everytime McCain gave one of his bitter " chuckles" my mind immediately brought forth pictures of the preacher from Poltergeist II ( google it if you can, if not imagine the closest thing to a creepy old man corpse that still has a heartbeat!).

Senator McCain, I'm so sorry that your feelings were hurt when Obama did not publicly repudiate comments made by Congressman Lewis when he compared your smear campaigns to that of Governor Wallace, a staunch segragationist and racist I should add. I cannot comment on your thoughts about race McCain, but your proclivity to bring out the worst in your supports is palpable, dangerous and worthy of the harshest criticism.

Good thing Barack Obama is more concerned about the nation's welfare and economy than to begrudge McCain and Palin for their widespread attempts to cater to the worst fears of the biggest biggots in our country.

This country is going down the tubes. Stop ignoring the problem. It is your problem as well as that of the nation. You are a citizen, you have a voice, stand up and use it. I don't mean just voting either. Go out, talk to your friends and family. Encourage conversations and debates about our country and it's future. Get yourself informed on issues that you are confused or concerned about.

Most importantly, make an informed decision.

Joe the Plumber won't be able to fix this mess. Neither will John McCain. The nation seems to think that Barack Obama can, do you?

Truth be told, nothing much has changed.

McCain and Palin are still spewing the same old distorted, propaganda about Barack Obama's character in a desperate attempt to lure voters away from the man that they know will be able to lead us out of this nightmare.

As the final debate is just a few hours away, I would like you to munch on some food for thought...

What is it going to take?

What is it going to take for the undecided or McCain supports to realize that America is in the toilet, things are only going to get worse, and McCain is incapable of turning our wonderful nation around.

Will more jobs have to be lost? Will more homes have to be foreclosed upon? Will gas prices have to balloon out of control again? Will home heating costs have to increase even more? Will you have to continue to decide about what you can do without at the grocery store? Will you have to go without an operation because you no longer have health care?

Or, worse, will we have to suffer another terrorist attack at the hands Al-Qaeda members that are based in Afghanistan and Pakistan, all because McCain would rather continue to bleed our hard-earned money out the window in Iraq to the tune of $5,000 per second?

Do we as a nation, have to hit even harder times to realize that we cannot, under any circumstances, have more of the same?

For those of you who are not voting for Obama because of his race, will your close-mindedness be the reason that you are out on the street? I don't care if you share the same skin color; John McCain is not looking out for you, no matter what he says.

Unless of course, you're on the board of a large oil corporation.

America, we are living in abysmal times. We as a nation require significant measures to ensure the turnaround of the current administration. John McCain merely represents more of the same failed policies that got out country into this mess to begin with.

One of my favorite novels, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, begins with “It was the best of time, it was the worst of times". Yes, the novel is set within the context of the French Revolution, but do those words not still ring true? We do not need the guillotine or a revolution to let our voice be heard. We simply need to vote, wisely.

I will not mince words here. We are on the brink of the worst of times. Do we want to allow our nation to fall off that precipice and plunge into ruin or near ruin? Or, do we want to stand up and make the decision to strive for the best of times once again?

It all depends on your vote.

As I sat down to chuckle at the Daily Show last night, I noticed a segment in which they played a portion of a recent McCain rally. McCain, once again, informed his audience of the baseless and unfounded " connection" between former domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers, and Barack Obama.

From the crowd, not only could you hear "boos" but you could hear people yelling "kill him!", "lynch him!".

WHAT?!!!

McCain and Palin, you let these things be said and do NOTHING to stop it? The two of you are encouraging right-wing extremists to carry out an assassination of our Democratic Presidential candidate.

You know it and you're not doing anything to stop it.

You absolutely disgust me! You are heartless, worthless, greedy, selfish and immoral. You have no business in the White House.

Just to let you know Sarah Palin and John McCain, if something happens to Obama, his blood is on your hands.

I hope you can live with that.

And, for those of you who perpetuate these ridiculous distortions by the McCain team, any blood shed will be on your hands as well.

Once again, I was pretty bored with the debate between Barack Obama and John McCain.

Didn't Sarah Palin say that “the gloves were off??” Hmmm.... not too many jabs last night, or at least they were fairly benign. I was waiting for John McCain to bring up Obama's "relationship" with Bill Ayers.

Of course, he didn't. Why wouldn't McCain bring out the big guns that he's been using for the past four days? If Obama really palled around with domestic terrorists, wouldn't last night's debate be the perfect forum to present that to the nation?

My theory is that McCain didn't bring that up because he knew that he would trigger a chain reaction. You see, if McCain were to mention the baseless and unfounded "connection" between Obama and Ayers, then Obama would have shot right back with highlighting McCain's involvement with Charles Keating and the Savings and Loan scandal that he took part in during the late eighties.

I have to give credit to McCain here. Every major new source in the country has declared that Obama and Ayers have no association other than the fact that they are neighbors in Chicago and have served on charity boards together. However, McCain's unethical participation in Charles Keating's Savings and Loan scandal is public record. In addition, McCain was brought up on ethics violations by Congress.

The ethics committee concluded that McCain "exercised poor judgment in intervening with the regulators."

In a time when this country is desperate for strong and impartial regulation for large corporations, do you trust a man that has a track record of political corruption in this area?

McCain has said that he regrets his involvement in the scandal.

Don't let your biggest regret be that you actually voted for him.

Did you know that the McCain team has decided that since their economic policies are garbage, their only hope at clinching this election would be to “attack Barack Obama's character?

Well, they are off and running! Over the weekend, Sarah Palin has been stating that Barack Obama "pals around with domestic terrorists". This is a poor attempt to connect Obama and a former anti-Vietnam extremist from the late 60's, Bill Ayers. Obama and Ayers are neighbors and have served on the same charities.

As disgusting as these baseless claims are, Palin has defended them! Palin has stated that discussing the connection is important for voters to understand Obama's “character".

At least the connection between McCain and Charles Keating was very much real, and unethical.

In response to the false accusations Obama has said, "Senator McCain and his operatives are gambling that he can distract you with smears rather than talk to you about substance.” They’d rather try to tear our campaign down than lift this country up."

"It's what you do when you're out of touch, out of ideas and running out of time," Obama said.

Out of touch, out of ideas and running out of time is exactly what the McCain camp is.

Ole' Sarah is back at it again. Just this weekend, she told her supporters, on two separate occassions, that Obama had been "palling around" with a domestic terrorist. Palin stated that Barack Obama is "someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

( Insert the proverbial eye-roll for such disgusting distortions by the Republicans, here).

Palin was loosely referring to the association between William Ayers and Barack Obama. This is all part of a new tactic by the McCain team to go after Obama's character. After all, they've failed to discredit his plans as well as failed to defend their own. Why you ask? Well, it's because Obama's plans are what this country needs, their plans are more of the same, they know it and the country is starting to get the picture as well. They're so terrified and desparate, that they've grabbed at any straw that they can find.

Their latest straw being that " connection" between William Ayers and Barack Obama.

In the 1960s, Ayers was a founding member of the radical Weather Underground group that planned and carried out a series of bombings of federal buildings, including the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol, to protest against the Vietnam War.

The group. which is no longer in operation, was labeled a "domestic terrorist group" by the FBI, and Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn — also a Weather Underground member — spent 10 years on the run as fugitives in the 1970s. Federal charges against them were dropped due to FBI misconduct in obtaining evidence against them. Since then, both Ayers and Dohrn eventually became university professors in Chicago, where Ayers continues to be an education professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

So what's the connection between Obama and Ayers?

They're neighbors.

They live on the same city block in Chicago. They're also interested in similar charities to which they both served on the boards of. Most major news publications, including the New York Times ( which Palin cited as the source of this information) have not found any solid connection between either men.

I urge you dear readers to take this information and pass it on. There are so many people, colleagues and friends even, that are so nervous about electing a black president that they use these ludicrous and baseless accusations to defend their reasons for not voting for Obama.

Don't let this happen!

Inform everyone who will listen about the disgusting, merciless and distorted propaganda that the Republicans are inundating you with every chance that they get. Don't let them get to you, stay informed. Doubt all of their claims, double check the " facts' that they tell you. We live in a digital age, information is at our fingertips.

I can't speak for Obama, but I know that this country is imperfect. I know that with people like Sarah Palin, John McCain and the entire Bush administration, palling around with each other and gambling with our livelihoods and well-being, this country will continue to fall apart.

We need change and we need it now. The kind of change that the McPalin team brings is one of rewriting history to cast Obama in a negative light. The kind of change that Obama will protect and support our financial and national securities, both as individuals and a nation.

I am angered this morning that the media has let Sarah Palin off the hook about her performance in the Vice Presidential debate last night. How can you claim that she did a good job when she was shaking like a leaf, avoiding questions, answering questions about questions that were never asked and repeatedly used phrases such as " darn it".

My personal colloquial favorites of Sarah Palin that she used during last night's debate are " Say it ain't so Joe", " Joe- six-pack""doggone" and her persistent abuse of the English language as she dropped all the "ings" off of words ending in -ing. " Gettin", "Hopin"," Prayin", "Thinkin".

I'm thinkin' she doesn't know jack squat about being a national leader, or grammar for that matter.

She's nauseating. I was waiting for Tina Fey to scream " Live from New York it's Saturday night!" throughout the debate. That's how ridiculous she sounded!

Is this how a Vice President should speak? America, is this how we want an elected leader to come across to international leaders? Is Sarah Palin who we want to chose to represent us to the world? Please excuse me while I dry heave!

I don't hurl acclaim at anyone just because they didn't " mess up". You don't have to mess up to have lost the debate. You have to defend the Bush policies that McCain voted for, champion his tax breaks for corporate America, promise to "strengthen" No Child Left Behind, and read off of the cue cards that the McCain team has been tirelessly working on this past week for you.

Your star is fading Governor Palin. You are unqualified, inexperienced and lack any substance or depth. You are returning to Alaska to your family for a spell. Enjoy that time and please do us all a favor... stay there.

You don't have to be an avergae American to represent the voices of average Americans.I don't want " Joe six-pack" or Annie-get-your-gun in the White House. I want a strong, qualified and experienced leader. I want Barack Obama to be our next president, and so should you.

Gwen Ifill, the managing editor of "Washington Week" and senior correspondent for "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer is set to moderate the Vice Presidential debate between Delaware Senator, Joe Biden and Alaska governor, Sarah Palin.

Ifill, an accomplished journalist and author of an upcoming book "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama," has come under harsh criticism both in the media and the blogosphere. Critics claim she is "biased" and will be "unfair and imbalanced" during tonight's debate.

Hmmm.... she is a successful, educated and acclaimed woman of color who has written a book about black politicians in America. Therefore, is it the color of her skin that lends her to be " biased"?

Wouldn't Jim Lehrer, her counterpart on his show, have been biased towards Barack Obama and favored McCain in last Friday's debate? Jim like McCain, is an old white guy?

What if Gwen Ifill favors Sarah Palin because they are both women?

Hurling accusations of of bias, simply because an individual either shares political beliefs and or physical characteristics of another candidate is as ridiculous as the idea of Sarah Palin having any place within the White House.

Don't be fooled America. This is just another stunt the McCain team is pulling to make us feel bad for Palin. They would like us to believe that she is a newbie in terms of her experience with political debates. Yes, she's currently so "unprepared" that the McCain team has her in debate boot camp in Arizona.

DO NOT BE FOOLED! Palin is an experienced, sharp-tounged debater who has debated twice during her run for Governor of Alaska. She is not a novice. Don't fall for the McCain's team representation of her as a poor, helpless, inexperienced debater.

They want you to think that so when Palin tries to rip Biden a new one, you think she's a " maverick".

Keep this in mind when you watch the debate. she is a snake in the grass. And, no matter what she says tonight, she is still ignorant, inexperienced and completely unqualified for the role of the Vice Presidency.

Eight years ago, I jokingly remarked to my then college roommates that “you know it must be bad, when I'd rather have John McCain in office than George Bush."

It was sobering for me at the time to realize that George W. Bush was such a pitiful, ignorant, arrogant and completely unqualified candidate that I would prefer another Republican over him. From what I now understand about John McCain, it's almost implausible that those words would ever come out of this “democraddicts" mouth.

I'm sad, oh so very, very sad, to have to admit that I'm having déjà vu all over again.

For those loyal, dear readers, my critical perspective of Sarah Palin has been expressed on at least a weekly basis. I can't stand her. I refuse to mince words anymore, she's an idiot.

As I watched the skit last Saturday, I had to turn to some of my friends and tell them “this is what she actually said".

She is a joke, yet I am NOT laughing, I'm ripping my hair out!

Palin's ignorance hints at that of another whopper of a numb nut, fellow Republican and Vice President to George H.W. Bush, Dan Quayle.

I was originally excited about the thought of Palin being embarrassed on a national stage this coming Thursday in her scheduled debate with Democratic vice Presidential nominee, Joe Biden. However, McCain's team isn't as stupid as their VP candidate; they have Palin in “debate boot camp" in Arizona even as we speak.

That being said, please be cognoscente of the canned-answers, blanketed, sentimental statements, irrelevant and distracting comments and baseless accusations that Palin will make. I'm sure by Wednesday night; Palin will be reciting them in her sleep.

Please, don't let McCain's hard work on Palin this week pay off. Read between the lines, even though she lacks the ability to, she should have no place on a national stage. She should no place in the executive office.

Neither should John McCain.

I waited for Friday night's debate like a child eagerly awaits Christmas morning. To me, the debates are like the super bowl of the election. I plant myself in front of the tv and enthusiastically cheer on my team, the Democrats, and their captain, Barack Obama.

I felt badly for both candidates as there was no honest and accurate way that either of them could comment on the bailout plan. Essentially, they're both working for the same team, Congress, and they have to be team players here. Both of them will " score" if Congress is able to pass this bill. They can't come across as a politician who cannot work across party lines.

The debate itself was a bit of a bore. However, having briefed myself on McCain's temper only hours before ( see previous article on McCain's Top Ten Blowouts), I was gearing myself up for major blowout number eleven. Seen as how just the day before the debate, McCain was telling Congressional members of his own party " Fuck you!" during a formal meeting, it seemed likely that he wouldn't be able to contain himself in front of his opponent.

Sadly, he didn't have an outburst. However, during the split screen, McCain's reactions to Obama's comments, which included teeth clenching, erratic laughing and a whole lot of huffing and puffing, led me to believe that at any moment, his head would explode. I can just picture it now, Obama and moderator Jim Lehrer covered in McCain's, still- fuming brain matter.

Alas, his head did not explode either. However, I'm very worried about McCain's blood pressure. If a simple debate between his Congressional colleague could elevate your stress that much, what would a serious international crisis do to him? What if he were to have to negotiate between an unfamiliar and hostile world leader? He couldn't even continue to carry on with his campaign last week in the wake of this country's financial nightmare. How is he going to hold up to the consistent stress that a president is under twenty four hours a day?

My prediction: not well.

Is this how a president should act?... Here's what I found when I was advised to google " McCain's Top Ten Blowouts" :

As former GOP Senator Rick Santorum put it, "Everybody has a McCain story." Over his tenure in Congress, McCain has had angry, expletive-laced exchanges with a number of his colleagues and peers,- both Democrat and Republican alike- many of which have been covered extensively by local Arizona and nationwide news sources. Below are the ten most notable among them.



10. Senator Ted Kennedy - On August 6, 1993, the Boston Globe ran a story detailing a heated verbal exchange between Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy and McCain. Kennedy was at the lectern delivering remarks, when McCain began walking toward him from across the Senate floor, mocking the Massachusetts legislator. McCain shouted at Kennedy to "shut up." A stunned Kennedy fired back at McCain, telling him, "you shut up...and act like a Senator."



9. Democratic Rep. Marty Russo (D-IL) - In its December 1985 issue, Atlantic Monthly described an altercation that took place just a few years after McCain had been elected to the House for the first time. Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) found himself in the crossfire between the two Congressman, who were angrily shouting "seven-letter and twelve-letter" epithets back and forth at one another, when the exchange became violent and they began pushing and shoving one another. The two were separated from their tangle by a few other legislators who were nearby.



8. Former Phoenix Mayor Paul Johnson - Newsmax, the "conservative perspective" political publication run by Chris Ruddy, didn't cut McCain any partisan slack in a July 2006 article, in which it recounted a dust-up between McCain and some local government officials in his home state. Speaking at a luncheon at which McCain was in attendance, former Phoenix Mayor Paul Johnson was among a group of local mayors fielding questions from the Arizona Congressional delegation about local land issues. In the midst of one answer from Johnson, who helmed the city from 1990 to 1994, McCain blurted out, "Hold it a minute. Somebody write down everything this guy has to say. You know what, we need to record him. It's best to get a liar on tape."



Taken aback, Johnson offered the Senator a chance to speak privately, saying, "Senator, if you have a problem with me, why don't we go out in the hallway and talk about it."



McCain fired back: "You're God-damn right I have a problem with you! They've been treating you like a princess in Phoenix while they've been burning me over this damn deal, and I'm sick of it!"



7. Unidentified GOP Senator - Accounts of McCain's outburst at a Senate GOP policy lunch has reached near-epic proportion, having been written about by just about every blog and news site from Newsmax, to DailyKos, to the Huffington Post, to Wonkette, and so on. During a vitriolic exchange between McCain and another unnamed Senator who took a position contrary to that of his colleague from Arizona. McCain became infuriated, jumping from his chair and calling his fellow Republican a "shithead," prompting an immediate demand for an apology. McCain stood up again and issued it...sort of. "Okay, I apologize," he said. "But you're still a shithead."



6. Senator Pete Domenici - Newsweek's February 21, 2000 edition highlighted an exchange between McCain and Republican Senator Pete Domenici of New Mexico, Chairman of the Budget Committee. In staunch disagreement with a particular portion of a budget amendment, McCain exploded. "Only an asshole would put together a budget like that." Domenici, who'd been in the Senate nearly 30 years by that point, gave a restrained reply, noting that even in the most heated debated throughout his entire career, no one had ever used that kind of language toward him. McCain didn't back down. "I wouldn't call you an asshole unless you really were an asshole."



5. Unidentified GOP Senator- In 2006, Ron Kessler of Newsmax wrote that much of McCain's unpopularity in the Senate stems from his 2000 campaign, when the vast majority- in fact, all but four- of his colleagues backed George W. Bush in the GOP primary. One of McCain's top aides recounted a telephone conversation between McCain and another Senator, who was explaining that he'd already committed to supporting Bush. When he finished, McCain bristled. "Fuck you," he said, and hung up, never to speak to him again.



4. Senator Strom Thurmond - In an article titled "Senator Hothead," The Washingtonian recounted one particular encounter between McCain and then-92-year-old Senator Strom Thurmond of South Carolina. McCain was giving an opening statement at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing when Thurmond, the committee chairman, interrupted to inquire as to whether McCain was finished so that the proceedings could be moved along. McCain glared at Thurmond and thanked him for his "courtesy." McCain later confronted Thurmond on the Senate floor, and a "scuffle" ensued. "The two didn't part friends."



3. Senator Chuck Grassley - The same Newsweek article that outlined McCain's confrontation with Domenici pointed to a similar incident with Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa. The two were debating issues related to soldiers who had been reported Missing In Action in Vietnam. After a blistering commentary by McCain, Grassley took offense. "Are you calling me stupid?" he asked.



McCain didn't miss a beat. "No, I'm calling you a fucking jerk."



2. Senator John Cornyn - On May 18, 2007, The Washington Post reported that McCain had locked horns with another one of his GOP colleagues, this time Senator John Cornyn of Texas. The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill of 2007 had caused an enormous rift among Republicans, and the two Senators found themselves on opposite sides. Cornyn objected to a provision of the bill that allowed for what he perceived as too many judicial appeals for illegal immigrants. McCain called his objections "chicken shit" and accused Cornyn of making petty tactics to sabotage the whole bill. Cornyn took immediate offense.



"Wait a second here. I've been sitting in here for all these negotiations and you just parachute in here on the last day. You're out of line."



Then McCain, who'd been spending a lot of time away from Washington on his presidential campaign, got a little more out of line. "Fuck you!" he shouted. "I know more about this than anyone in this room!" McCain apologized shortly afterword.



1. His Own Wife, Cindy McCain - In his new book, The Real McCain, Cliff Schecter, a journalist and frequent contributor at the Huffington Post related perhaps the most disturbing of McCain's tirades. During his 2000 White House bid, the Senator was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, his aides, and three journalists who spoke to Schecter on condition of anonymity, but independently confirmed each other's accounts of the incident. Cindy McCain playfully ran her fingers through the Senator's hair and teased, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain reddened and fired back, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollup, you cunt." After he'd cooled down, McCain apologized, saying he'd had a long day.

As I typed in “Gallup Poll” in my search engine, I had an almost childlike excitement as I awaited the results. John McCain’s recent “determination” to resolve our country’s recent financial crisis and “ suspension” of his campaign to make it a top priority has turned my stomach enough to assume that Obama would have a whopping lead in the polls.

I was wrong.

The Gallup Poll shows that they are tied.

John McCain has dropped everything, including his campaign, in order to save our nation from the current financial nightmare that we are in. Senator McCain, you have my sincerest and deepest gratitude as I know that participating in Congressional meetings and sessions is your top priority. You want to stand up for the American people and make sure that our voice is heard.

However, if participating in Congressional sessions has always been your top priority, then why haven’t you voted in one since last April? I’m sure he could have been there to pass measures that may have prevented some of this mess, but he wasn’t, and he didn’t.

Senator McCain, how exactly do you view the role of the president? A president is at work 24/7 for the duration of their term. Yes, you do have to be able to prioritize, however you also have to be able to multi-task. Our economy is in the toilet, but that is not our nation’s only pressing problem. Your decision to suspend your campaign is letting the American people know that you are not capable of handling pertinent, national issues and crises simultaneously.

Also, why is he trying to delay the debate? If he is confident in his experience and qualifications, then how is he not able to defend them on a public stage? Furthermore, if his is so sure of your Vice Presidential Candidate, Sarah Palin, then why won’t his campaign allow her to speak with reporters? Is it because her comments have proven her inexperience, lack of insight and qualifications to be Vice President?

There is no debating the fact that John McCain’s actions, or should I say inactions, only reinforce the fact that he is not the one capable of leading this country in the right direction.

Silence is golden right McCain? Unfortunately, last time I checked, gold wasn’t worth much.

America, any doubts that you may have about the state of Sarah Palin's soul, can now be put at ease!

Yesterday, a youtube video was posted that showed Sarah Palin being blessed before her bid to become governor in 2005. In her hometown church , the Wasilla Assembly of God, Palin was showered with blessings, inluding protection from "witchcraft"...phew!

In October, 2005, Bishop Thomas Muthee blessed Sarah Palin her in her preparations to run for governor of Alsaka :

" Come on, talk to God about this woman. We declare, save her from Satan... Bring finances her way even for the campaign in the name of Jesus... Use her to turn this nation around"

Palin spoke fondly of the pastor in a visit to her church this past June:

" Pastor Muthee was here and he was praying over me, and you know how he speaks, he's so bold" Palin said in regards to her blessing. " And he was praying ' Lord make a way, Lord make a way'...He said, ' Lord make a way and let her do this next step'. " And that's exactly what happened".

Yeah, thanks God, it happened.

I tried to find the video today but had no luck. Hmm...I wonder why?

I wish that I could be blessed enough to not have " evil do-ers" in the White House. You know, the Bush administration? The same one that John McCain voted with 90% of the time?

Well Sarah, you're witch-free and God apparently granted you with some campaign funds. Hey, he even got you elected as Governor right? So then Sarah, if God is not too busy filling your pockets and warding off evil, can you ask him to throw some money towards our economy? Say, $700 Billion dollars or so?

In response to my latest blog about the economy, a good friend of mine brought up a good point. If McPalin is to be elected, and they continue to mercilessly drive the nation into the ground, would people actually come together, within their respective communities, to make change from the ground up?

In my worst case scenario, that being John McCain in office and that beastly woman in tow, its a comforting thought to know that maybe, just maybe that grim reality would force the hand of the average American to take back their government.

What if John McCain did bring this country into the recession, would hard times force us to abandon our own self interests and come together? Would I get to know my neighbors in more than just a wave--when-you-see-them way? Would we call upon each other to borrow a cup of milk? Or, because we can no longer afford cable, would we stop to have a chat on the doorstep, about the weather, the Sox or even about how to empower each other to bring this country back to greatness.

Would the soaring price of gas cause us to leave our car keys at home and take the train into town to take advantage of any free cultural event going on in the city? Would we sit, chat and play cards over screaming over each other while we bleed money in a trendy bar?

If this election has taught us anything, it’s that voters are either fired up about change, or committed to more of the same. The country, it seems, to have one foot in the future, and one foot firmly steeped in the past.

However, we should realize it is the present that we should focus our vote on.

In my worst case scenario, that being John McCain in office and that beastly woman in tow, it’s a comforting thought to know that maybe, just maybe that grim reality would bring Americans back together.

However, my version of the perfect world would be Barack Obama being elected, bringing the change that we need and inspiring this sense of community in the wake of hope and change, and not the bitter disappointment that McPalin would assuredly bring to this country.

I don't know about you, but I've been losing sleep over the country's financial crisis. A worry-wart by nature, I definitely lost some precious zzz's to the pending government bailout of several financial giants, who have shoved our economy to the brink of a depression.

As I staggered through the day in a sleepy-haze, I couldn't help but be bombarded with constant reminders of our dismal economic future. Whether it be the t.v., radio, internet ( and even my blog...hehehe), I couldn't get away from it for a second.

I realize that not everyone is as consumed with the country's monetary woes as myself. For those of you who feel that they are not informed enough to care, let alone worry right now... YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Sarah Palin couldn't let the ole' economy get her down, she spent the whole day on Tuesday on a whirl-wind tour meeting with foreign dignitaries who were kind enough to meet with her, even though their names she probably couldn't pronounce and their countries she probably couldn't locate on a map.

Who cares about the tireless work that the entire government is putting in to try and salvage a scrap of fiscal hope for our beloved nation! Sarah had work to do! She had to show the US that you can gain years of international diplomatic experience by spending a few hours " chatting" with foreign leaders, who you probably never knew existed before you were briefed in the motorcade on your way to the UN.

Don't worry Sarah, I don't blame you for not pitching in your two-cents to your "old" chum, ( and I do mean OLD), John McCain in regards to the country's current financial nightmare. If I didn't have any real solutions to offer or insight into how to get a country out of massive debt ( and not in it, which is what you did in Alaska), I would have went on a field trip too.

I am beyond furious at the current state of our economy!

The blame-game aside, our economy is on the brink of a depression. As a result of risky financial maneuvers, deregulation and corporate tax breaks by the Republicans, the Feds are proposing $700 Billion to bail these corporations out.

Guess what? I'm not a Republican, but I have to pay for their mess!

Please don't be naive to think that if these plans don't work out the way that the Feds hope that they will, it could most definitely result in us, the taxpayers, footing the bill for the nightmare that Republicans let these corporate big-wigs get into.

As angry as I am, I do understand that these measures have to be taken. I am not willing to wait in any soup lines just yet. Our economy would be worse if we let these corporations completely fall on their faces. Every American would feel the trickle down financial affect at some point.

However, I don't care what political party you are for or against, this is all a direct result of de-regulation, corporate tax cuts (which McCain wants to make permanent if elected) and greed.

No political party is completely blame-less, but the majority of wrong-doing falls directly on the Republicans, particularly, the Bush administration, which of course John McCain voted with, 90% of the time. Democrats are not 100% innocent, however any measure they had taken in Congress to prevent or correct de-regulation and unnecessary tax breaks, was swiftly VETOED by Georgey boy.

It is now impossible for whoever is elected president to NOT raise taxes. Yet, McCain has the gall to claim that he won't.

He's a complete and total hypocrite.

He wants to support tax breaks but endorses corporate de-regulation and tax breaks that landed us in such a disastrous mess, that every taxpayer will be forced to pay for some of it.

In the words of your own dear Sarah Palin, “Thanks, but no thanks" John McCain.

You're a day late, and $700 Billion dollars short!

Both Obama and Mcain are hot on the campaign trail this week, addressing the country's most pressing issue, the economy.

McCain, who only a week ago said the economy was fundamentally sound, is now saying that the U.S. financial system is facing a major crisis. He was a champion of de-regulation and corporate tax breaks for the very institutions that took a nose dive this week. Yet, now he's singing a very different tune. You know, the one of utter desperation? He'll sing anything to get your vote.

Please, don't listen.

Obama, is still awaiting the detailed Congressional plan before his camp releases theirs. He's right in doing that, there is going to be no "simple" solution to this nightmare.

The big question on voter's minds is this; who do you trust to turn this country's economy around?

For me, that person is Barack Obama. He has been pro-regulation, anti-corporate tax breaks for the duration of his campaign. He cares about the average American having to pay for a mess that the Bush administration, including John McCain, has out us into.

For those of you who think that McCain is the one to lead this country out of its current crisis, please do some research on " The Keating Five". Your beloved Arizona Senator was involved in a Savings & Loan scandal that cost the tax payers $126.4 Billion dollars . The result of that being the recession of the late eighties and early nineties.

The current pricetag for our country's present financial disaster is $700 Billion dollars.

If this country landed in a recession for $600 Billion dollars less, how will we handle it now? Especially with a war that John McCain supports that's currently costing us $10 Billion dollars a month. The total cost of the war in general could have paid for this government bail out.

John McCain helped get us into an economic recession before with his questionable actions as well as his de-regulation, pro-corporate tax breaks platform. He certainly is leading us into one now. That being said, what makes you think he is capable of leading us out?

According to a recent AP-Yahoo News poll, this unfortunate sentiment currently belongs to thirty percent of white Democratic and Independent voters. This sentiment could also cost Obama the race if the election remains to be as close as it is.

In addition, this sentiment could also be the reason why the election remains to be this close. After all, John McCain supported both an unpopular, if not the most unpopular, president and the war in Iraq. McCain also played a hand in this country's current economic crisis by voting for de-regulation as well as significant tax breaks for the very same financial corporations that have gone down the toilet this week.

What is important to you Americans? It blows my mind that this many Americans, Democratic and Independent voters no less, would vote for John McCain simply because the alternative happens to be a man of color. Actually it goes beyond that, it entirely and utterly terrifies me.

This poll does not just represent the deep-rooted prejudices that many Americans still have towards people of color, it speaks loud and clear to the fact that many of you are just afraid. Afraid that electing a black man to the office of the president will create a domino affect of electing other non-white men and women to positions of great power in America.

Is that thought so appalling to you? What is there to be afraid of? This country has been led by white men since it's inception. White men continue to head up major corporations ( like AIG, Lehman Brothers and Merril Lynch). It is mostly white men that are in that top 1% of our population who control the majority of the wealth in this country.

It has also been white men that have lied to you about the reasons for invading Iraq. A lie that has led to a price tag nearing a trillion dollars. Guess who's paying for that America? Us, ALL of us. Black, white, Asian and Hispanic. Every American citizen is paying for the deceit and disgrace that the current white men in office have caused, and will likely to continue to cause if John McCain is elected.

Look around dear Americans, this country is not made up entirely of white men, nor do white people remain the vast majority of our population. This country remains to be an international icon known for it's melting-pot society. Non-whites currently make up one third of our population. 45% of children under the age of five are non-white. That means in just twenty years, this country could potentially be equally mixed. The word " minority" dear Americans could be used to describe white people in the future. I can assure you at that time, it will not be a white man who is in office.

I say that not to scare you Americans, but to open your eyes to the reality that times are changing and we need to change with them. We need to embrace the change that this country so desperately needs. If you vote for John McCain just because the thought of a black man as president frightens you, then I pity you. That choice will only result in a reality that will be worse than your worst nightmares for this country.

Please don't be naive about the current state of our country and economy. We are just steps away from standing in soup lines. The current administration has brought us to the border of an economic crisis that parallels the Great Depression. That was almost a hundred years ago. We've come a long way since then. Voting for John McCain simply because he is white, could bring this country right back there.

As a a white woman, and a Democrat, there are many factors that I am basing my vote on for this election .

First of all, I want my country to embody the very ideals that it was founded upon; life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I want to be proud of my government again. I want to know that my taxes are being spent on initiatives to better our country and its citizens and not just to cater to the super rich.

I want to feel safe. I want to know that when my government tells me that there is an international threat, that it should be honest and accurate and not just a vehicle to provide work for private interests and shove democracy down the throat of a country who does not want us to be there.

I want the gap between the super rich and the middle class to be decreased. I want to be able to have and raise children in a country where people take part in democracy to vote for the candidates that represent their ideals and not their prejudices.

This country doesn't need a man of color to be able to achieve the change that it so desperately needs. This country needs a man who has the intelligence, qualifications, experience, patience and insight needed to lead this country in the right direction. That man ladies and gentlemen is Barack Obama.


I am a white, Democratic woman and I am voting for Barack Obama because his " wants" for this country, echo my own.

I plead with my white, Democratic and Independent peers to look inside themselves to realize what it is they really want from our next president. Is it a strong leader who will represent the best interests of its' citizens? Or, is it a man who lacks pigment in his skin?

Think about it.

AIG is the American International Group, a huge insurance corporation, with offices located around the world. AIG is one the largest underwriters of commercial and industrial insurance and AIG American General is a top-ranked life insurer.

This week, due to a poor credit rating,their stock dove by 95%. Therefore, stocks for AIG were being traded for just $1.25 on September 16, 2008, from a 52-week high of $70.13.

So, let's say you had 100 shares of their stock, last week that would be worth $7,013 and this week it would be worth $125.

The stock losses do not include the affects that AIG going under, would have had on those with life and busniness insurance policies.

The American government has stepped in to bail out AIG to the tune of $85 billion dollars. For the average tax payer, you shouldn't be alarmed just yet, as in exchange for the bail out, the US government retains 79.9% of the company. Which means that if AIG goes on the upswing, the US government should make all of it's money back, and hopefully then some.

This was a necesary means for the government as the collapse of AIG would prove devistating to our economy. The trickle down affects would eventually reach every American, whether you have any financial or insurance interests with AIG. From higher student loans, mortgage and credit cards, AIG's collapse would have hit all of our wallets in the end.

Some of you may have been hearing about Lehman Brothers, a global investment bank, which the government let fall on its face earlier this week.That was also necesarry, the US government is not responsible for poor trading practices, therfore, they cannot put the nation into an even further deficit by bailing out every coroporation that has been improperly regulated by the Bush administration

The result of Lehman brothers' bankruptcy was that other corporations, specifically Barclay's of London, snatched it up at bargain bin prices. Merril Lynch also, due to severe financial setbacks, allowed Bank of America to buy it up for mere $50 Billion dollars. This could prove tricky as the financial giants Barclay's and Bank of America, have become super giants, which could ultimately result in a monopoly.

Ultimately, our current economic status is a direct result of dysregulation by the current administration on big corporations. The AIG situation should work itself out now that the government has stepped in. However, the government needs to keep a watchful eye on the coporations who are now significantly stronger due to the Lehman Brothers and Merril Lynch collapses, as they will need significant regulations placed on them to avoid a repeat of this week's economic disasters.

McCain has stated that he is for "de-regulation" throughout his political career. His long record of not regulating coporate financial matters coupled with significant tax breaks for the same corporations proves it.

Yet, within the span of 24hrs this week, he's determined to cut coporate tax breaks and regulate big corporations? Hmmm...that's what Obama's been saying all along.

The bottom line is this: the old boys' network got us into this mess, and now the entire government is responsible for cleaning it up. McCain's sudden economic enlightenment aside, he's still one of the old boys network.

i don't know about you, but I'm all set with more of the McSame.

One thing that I have loved about this election so far, is the amount of discussion that it has inspired across all party lines, and ages.
I am both a devoted Democrat, as well as Barack Obama supporter. I have suffered through the past eight years of the Bush administration to the point of having chomped through the proverbial "bit" for my chance to voice my choice for our next president. My peer group commiserates with me about the state of our economy, international conflicts and safety crises as well as the deteriorated state that our country is in overall. Yet, when it comes down to igniting their desire to stand up for change, I find many of my friends, relatives and co-workers. well, let's face it... lacking the gusto to vote, let alone inform themselves of the candidates platforms ( and not their designer eye wear).

Having grown up in a liberal household, where politics is both a way of life , I find myself scratching my head at those who are disinterested in politics in general. The number of generation Y'ers who are both unenthusiastic and disengaged in politics, and how it will relates and affects them, is staggering.

Instead of letting my frustrations lead to a burgeoning ulcer, I decided to put some deep thought into the causes of their passive nature towards the very hallowed gift that our forefathers left for us.
I am willing to say that I blame George W. Bush, his campaign, election and administration for their indifference.

Having spent twenty eight years on this earth, I salivated at the opportunity to vote in a presidential election. For those who share my age, plus or minus a few years, I can imagine the experience was the same for them. We grew up in the Reagan administration, as well as that of George Bush Sr. We watched how the ups and down of the economy affected our parents, and our livelihood. We relished in the excitement that the Clinton campaign brought to the hopeful Democrats, who had been waiting twelve years in the wings.

I can recall being twelve years old and staying up late, a special treat for me then, to watch the election results come in. I rejoiced with my family over Bill Clinton's election and spent the next eight years going from a pre-teen to a young co-ed, on relative easy-street.

Just when our generation was ready for our hopes and dreams to come to fruition, we were stuck with the nightmare that was the 2000 election. I will not pull any punches here, a disqualified, inexperienced, unintelligent daddy's boy was able to walk into an office that he was not elected to.
Why shouldn't the members of generation Y feel let down by their government? Those with half a brain knew what was going on , but it happened anyway. I cannot describe to you how my heart broke for my country then. I wish that I could say that my wounds have healed, for they have not.

If the election wasn't bad enough, we spent our final years in, or a the first few years out of college, the time when you have the world at your fingertips, watching the world as we know it fall apart after the attacks on September 11, 2001. To add insult to injury, many were tricked into believing that weapons of mass destruction were aimed and ready to obliterate the meager existence that we were trying to eek out, only to discover that it was all a lie in the name of special interests.

These circumstances are surely the reason that many didn't care enough to place their ballot in 2004. What other possible explanation is there for the fact that, that man was re-elected? Why bother right? It's not going to do any good in the long run. No, it didn't do any good, but look at all of the "bad" that it has done.

I will not take this election lying down, nor will I stop in my attempts to encourage anyone who will listen, to do the same. Now is the time. These are the moments to take part in your government. Over 200 years ago, countless men gave their lives in a bloody revolution to secure our democracy, to proclaim that a country's citizens should have a voice in how their government is run. Are we that self-centered that we take these privileges for granted?

As I stated earlier, this election has sparked a surge of discussion and interest in our nations politics.I am devoting every free moment that I have to inform anyone who will lend me their ear that THIS IS THE TIME. There are many out there, like me, desperately trying to reach potential voters, for we know the impact that every vote in this nation has.

Register to vote, inform yourselves of the candidates and cast your ballot. No matter which political party you may subscribe to, reclaim your place in democracy, make a difference. Every vote does count. If you disagree, I hope that you get used to another four, possibly eight years, of the same mockery of democracy that the present administration has done such a magnanimous job of maintaining.

Are you going to let this election go down in history as just another one that you didn't care enough about to vote for? I sincerely hope not, without even knowing you, I want more for you than that.

You didn't? Well you are if you're anti-Sarah Palin, according to Eddie Burke, a long-time , super conservative Anchorage talk show host.

A recent rally was organized by Alaskan women who wanted to speak out against their own governor and Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. Once Eddie Burke was informed of the rally he not only announced it to the public, but called the people who planned to attend the rally "a bunch of socialist baby-killing maggots," and read the home phone numbers of the organizers aloud over the air, urging listeners to call and tell them what they thought. I'm sure you can imagine what kinds of calls these women received.

The rally organizers were not expecting much of a turnout. They were also concerned about the counter protestors after the radio segement. However, they were delighted to find that 1,400 people were in attendance! In a state with a population one-tenth that of New York City, that's quite a turn out!

I'm glad the media mega-cloud over Sarah Palin is no longer highlighting her "selling points". Just this morning, I saw a segment on the Today show that de-bunked many of the myths about her experience and qualifications. ( If you're interested in viewing, go to http://www.nbc.com).

Last night, when I heard that someone had hacked into her personal email, I felt slightly bad for her. Then I remembered that you don't have to hack into anything to get some real dirt on her, it's all public record.

Look it up.

Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a member of the Democratic National Committee, and a longtime endorser of Hillary Clinton has stated that she is now supporting McCain. Rothschild claims that Obama is not "centerist" enough and that he is "elitist".

Hmm...a member of a large, wealthy family... to me she has more in common with the out-of-touch, wealthy John McCain than Obama any day. It's more likely that McCain represents a special interest that she has investments in.

McCain team, you can have her vote. Obama's campaign might miss the money in the long run. But, for now, you and Johnny boy can sip on the Bordeaux that your family makes.

The Republicans are it again folks. A team of lawyers " unrelated" to the McCain campaign has filed a lawsuit against the Alaska State Legislature, stating the the bi-partisan investigation of whether Sarah Palin abused her political powers by firing the Health and Safety Commissioner for NOT firing her ex-brother-on-law, was "McArthyistic".

I'm sorry Republicans, your impeachment of Bill Clinton's ( unexcusable) sexual antics in the White House wasn't McCarythistic? Wait, how about your mysogonistic, brutal grilling of Anita Hill who made claims of sexual harassment by your dream, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas?

Yet, the current administration has lied to Americans, plowed us into a recession and is responsible for the thousands of deaths of our military service members in Iraq with no questions asked?

Hmm... Sarah, just las week you told ABC's Charlie Gibson that you were happy to meet with the investigators and that you had nothing to hide. Why not just get the investigation over with so that you can focus on what matters to you most.... trying to snowball the American public into believing that you are NOT the lying, manipulative, dirty politician that you are.

Sarah Palin's camp has recently attacked Hillary Clinton for deciding to not participate in a protest being organized by several Jewish groups outside the United Nations on Sept. 22 against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Clinton was planning on attending the event, but withdrew after she learned that the Alaskan Governor and Vice Presidential candidate would be there.

Palin's camp cries " unfair" as the threat of nuclear violence from Iran is a non-partisan issue.

I'm sorry Sarah, I wasn't even sure you cared about Iran, seen as how you can't see it from your house.

Good for you Hillary! You're not going to make a serious, international issue become yet another stage for Sarah Palin's antics. Although you may think that we're stupid Sarah, we're not. You're not going to be side by side with one of the most influential, female political figures of the last decade, unless it's at a debate. A debate by the way, which you would most certainly lose.

I'm sure that Hillary, like myself, would dry heave over a picture of the two of them at that rally. You are the anti-Hillary Ms. Palin, you may suddenly "care" about international security issues but Hillary won't be caught dead being anywhere with you that isn't a forum to attack your dirty, nonsense politics!

I applaud you Hillary, at least you're not willing to make this issue a joke. Which, by the way Ms. Palin, is all that you are ( yet, I'm STILL not laughing).

What is nepotism you ask? Well it's just the the practice of granting your friends and relatives jobs or special favors. Sometimes it's used in business, sometimes in politics. Although an unfair practice all around, it should, under no circumstances, have its place in politics, particularly the White House. However, I'd be a fool and a liar if I were to claim that it doesn't happen across party lines.

Sarah Palin seems to be the champion of nepotism throughout her years as mayor of the small town of Wasilla, and now the governor of Alaska. Sarah Palin has used her political powers to favor her friends and family, whether that be to give them jobs or fire them. Sarah Palin appointed a high school friend to head Alaska's Department of Agriculture. A former real estate agent, the woman sighted her childhood love of cows as her experience and qualifications for the $100,000 a year job.

Coincidentally, foes of Sarah's friends and family were suddenly without a job when she came into office. " Troopergate" which is the current legislative investigation involving Palin, her husband and a dozen others are under suspicion of abuusing her gubenatorial powers to dismiss the Health and Safety commissioner for NOT firing her ex-brother-in-law.

Sarah, the guy sounded like a jerk. I adore my sisters and would do anything for them. However, my sisters, like myself, know that personal vendettas and agendas have no place in politics.... especially in the White House.

Karl Rove, a friend of Obama's?

No, not today, however his comments about McCain's recent vicious and distorted ads aimed at Obama have reinforced, even from the other side, that McCain has gone too far:

You may have not followed the link so I'll fill you in. Rove has come out to say that McCain's ads against Obama have gone too far. Don't worry, he throws some jabs in there about Obama's ads as well. After all, he IS Karl Rove.

You know Karl Rove right? The mastermind behind the most loathsome, innacurate and downright sleazy campaigns for politicians such as John Ashcroft and George W. Bush? Throughout his decades as a political consultant for Republican campaigns, he has been suspected of political foul play, particularly when it comes to " push polls" a tactic used when mysterious, non-campaign related phone calls are made against a candidate the night before an election.

Rove himself was under suspicion for such calls before the 2000 South Carolina primary between George W. Bush and John McCain. Voters received calls that asked them if they were less likey to vote for John McCain if they knew that he fathered an illegitimate, black child. Disgusting right? Yet, Rove seems to be adding his two cents to the McCain campaign as much as he can without being "officially" named a consultant. Karl Rove's hands are not clean Senator McCain ,and it disgusts me to think that you'd allow him to be a part of your campaign, whether officially or unofficially.

Just goes to show you that McCain's fear of Obama's well-deserved popularity has caused him to jump into the ring with the scuzz buckets who create his ads.

A slippery eel, Karl Rove is, having been suspected of countless dirty tactics to poison voter's minds against Democratic candidates, but never formally charged ( even though he was close to a legislative indictment for incidents that occurred a few years ago in the White House).

My stomach turns when I think of Rove, and now, McCain as well. However, my mind is a little bit at ease to know that the Republican's dirtiest player has still spoken out against them.

To many of my faithful readers, and to those new to the site, I want to extend my deep gratitude for the few moments that I'm taking of your time.

As a techno-peasant, I can admit that the " blogosphere" that has dominated the internet for sometime now, had even been waring on this democraddict. I've certainly read blogs for a chuckle or the ocassional opinion. Ultimately, I've always viewed blogs as a source of entertainment. In addition, I NEVER pictured myself as having a blog, not to mention having the least bit of an idea of how to publish one.

My inspiration dear readers has come purely from the fact that I want all voters to be informed about this election. Furthermore, I cannot stand the thought of the lies that the McCain team shoves down your throat on a daily basis. I hold you in a higher regard Americans. I respect your opinions and your vote, no matter whom it is for. I also respect your right to sit down for a few minutes a day and receive up to date information on hot issues that arise throughout this election. The only reward that I receive from this blog, is the thought that I might provide insight to just one voter who will then make an informed decision when they vote on November 4.

I work as a special needs teacher, full time, with a second job to boot. Blogging actually takes more time than you think. However, weariness aside, when good friends say things to me like " I heard Obama doesn't salute the flag" and " People don't want to vote for Obama because he might be assassinated", I perk right up and jump to the keyboard.

America, you deserve better than this! Hearing things like this makes me have to rush to stem the tide of my bleeding, liberal heart. Party lines aside, you deserve the truth. If you hear something totally outrageous, verging on unbelievable, please take it with a grain of salt. Look it up! We live in a digital age with infinite knowledge available to us with the click of a mouse. All of those sentiments are just the Republicans way of perpetuating ridiculous claims that they know will scare you away from Obama.

I'm not asking for you democratic vote, I'm asking that you inform yourself about anything that you're questioning, regardless of your political party.

Democracy is a blessing and voting is a gift. You wouldn't throw a precious gift away would you?

I didn't think so.

Hey! Did you know that as long as you say that you're something, you're it! What a wonderful concept! Okay then, " I'm a millionaire!"...


As I'm sure you've realized, on the millionaire front, I'm still waiting.

I'm also waiting for John McCain and Sarah Palin to stop making false claims about themselves and their capabilities to repair the current state of the economy. The McPalin team have the audacity to create ads that boast their fiscal reform prowess. They dare to claim that they will stop the corporate greed and corruption.

Huh? Aren't you proposing a tax break for the wealthy and big corporations?


Thankfully, Obama spokesman Bill Burton had this to say in response to the ad:

“John McCain has been in Washington for twenty-six years and hasn’t lifted a finger to reform the regulations that could’ve prevented this crisis. In fact, his campaign is run by some of the very same lobbyists who fought against these regulations and worked to put special interest giveaways in our federal budget. Now he’s proposing $200 billion in tax breaks for the biggest corporations in America but not one penny of relief to more than 100 million Americans who are worried about their life savings and their ability to make their mortgage payments. John McCain buys into the same failed economic theory that landed us in this mess in the first place, and we can’t afford to take a chance on his disturbingly out-of-touch policies at a time when our economy is in crisis,”

If you haven't worked to remedy the economy, then you won't. Talk is cheap. If it looks like a self-interest supporter, who's pro-corporate tax breaks and against relief for the middle and lower classes, then it's still indicative of the same old administration that is responsbile for our country's economic descent. Our economy needs a swift kick to the pants, served up by the foot of Barack Obama.

McCain's strategy still hasn't worked. I'm still not a millionaire. But hey, if I was, McCain would be my kind of guy!

Has anyone seen my old " friend" John? Can you tell me where he's gone?

Psst... John McCain, you can come out now! Some actually still remember that you're the Republican presidential candidate , even if the majority of the country is stuck in the Sarah Palin fog. Come out, come out wherever you are! I want to congratulate you and your hard working team, don't worry Karl Rove if it makes you feel better, I'll single you out for the your magnanimous effort in distracting the American people from the fact that John McCain is NOT what this country needs.

McCain camp, you saw that this country was starting to veer towards Barack Obama, the real beacon of social and fiscal reform. You broke out into a sweat over the fact that Americans were beginning to make, God forbid, informed decisions regarding their pick for our next president. You didn't sweat for long though, did you? You hit the ground running! Nice work guys, you didn't miss a beat in finding a source of distraction. You get an A++ for effort boys! You knew that you could really shake it up by choosing someone controversial. Someone like say Joe Lieberman, the Republican in " Independents" clothing? Nope, he does actually have real political experience and an ounce of intelligence. What to do? ! Alas you really had your A game on when you found the gun-toting, moose stew-eating, anti-choice, pro-creationism, self proclaimed pitbull with lipstick. Man, you really did it this time, that woman is so far to the right that we may need to expand the spectrum!

I'd give you a high five, but I'm worried that some of your conservative cooties would rub off on me.

Hey America, has anyone seen McCain's tax plan? The middle class gets bupkis. Don't you know that Obama's tax plan gives the middle and lower classes a significant tax break? Anyone? Oh I'm sorry... I didn't mean to interrupt the conversations about whether Sarah Palin actually sold the governors jet on ebay.

Wait, Americans, you'll really care about this, did you know that Al-Qaeda and the Taliban have active terrorist training camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan? Did you know that John McCain could care less and wants to continue to bleed American tax payers money out in Iraq to the tune of $5,000 a second? Oh excuse me, I didn't know that many were too busy shedding a tear over Sarah Palin's remarks to her son in the Army when he left to serve in Iraq last week. I believe her remarks intimated that her son would be joining those in Iraq who are fighting against terrorists who were responsible for 9/11? I can't imagine the words that I might have to use if I had to say goodbye to a son or daughter who would be willing to risk their lives in their service to this country. Sarah, I applaud your son for volunteering to serve. However, weren't the men who carried out the attacks on 9/11 based out of Afghanistan? Is Sarah Palin that misinformed or just trying to re-write history? Oh, I'm sorry, I'll be quiet, there are too many people who have to get in line to buy your hockey-mom, pitbull with lipstick t-shirt. Get em' while you can!

I know what really matters to you dear Americans, education right? Did you read Obama's plan? Do you see how he's working to eleviate the burden that " No Child Left Behind" has left on all American teachers, students and schools? Did you know that? What? Sarah Palin went to five colleges in six years? Man, she was commited to finishing her college degree wasn't she? She's also be comitted to the state of American education. After all, her devout evangelical mindset makes her determined to teach creationism in school. Don't worry! She doesn't want to teach about safe sex, or any type of sex. In fact, she's so comitted to her educational views that she wants any books have to do with evolution and sexual education banned!

As a teacher, I don't know where I would find the resources to teach creationism. How can I impart on my students that the hundreds of years of scientific research supporting the theory of evolution is, wait what's that word that Palin uses. " habberdash"? Man, I don't think that I have a single textbook that depicts humans and dinosaurs running around together. Oh, I know ! I can show them episodes of " Land of the Lost".

Yeah, that's it, Land of the Lost. However, isn't that what we as a nation are vastly becoming?

The McCain team have definitely been " mavericks" of deception. You deserve high praises for your work ladies and gentlemen, it looks like it's definitely been paying off. Unfortunately, I haven't been stupid enough to fall far it, nor has it swayed my vote. And, I hate to break it to you, there are millions of Americans who aren't that stupid either.... phew!

I may not be an evangelical, but I have faith in the fact that you'll make an informed decision come Novemeber 4. You know... election day? When you go to vote for either John McCain or Barack Obama for president? Silly me, I forgot that the McCain team would not want you to be reminded of the most important day for American citizens to let their voice in their government be known. The McPalin team would have you too busy picking out the right designer diaper bag for Sarah Palin to tote around D.C.

Sorry McPalin, the only choice that I'm going to make on November 4 is for Barack Obama for our next president. Afterall, his campaign has never had to work tirelessly to distract or deceive the American public. His platform is simple yet clear; this country needs change and Barack Obama is the one to provide us with that.

So John McCain, you can hide behind the Sarah Palin buzz all you want, at the end of the day, you're still nothing but more of the same. Cliches aside, eight is enough. Americans, are you ready to elect the man who represents the future of change that this government needs? If so, I'll see you at the Obama after party! We can applaud the fact that the McCain team drastically underestimated the American people and their ability to see through your Palin smokescreens. You have worked hard McCain team, but ultimately you'll still fail.

The nation comes together today to remember the horrors of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Together, we mourn lives lost by the hand of the cruel mastermind, Osama Bin Laden. The shock and pain of that day is something that every American will always carry in their hearts. I'm sure, that like me, you could not conceive that anyone on this earth would be so hateful of the United States that they would seek to murder its' civilians to impart their message of deep-rooted disdain and hatred.

How could anyone hate the land of the free and the brave? Who could think unkindly about a country that seeks to provide support and aide to countless nations around the world, all in the name of democracy?

Please do not be naive, there many people in this world, possibly millions who have a deep-rooted hatred for the United States, and who will stop at nothing to act on those feelings by planning and carrying out more terrorist attacks on the US. Al-Qaeda is still as active as it was seven years ago.

Barack Obama, over the course of this campaign has been trying to alert Americans to the fact that our priorities, in terms of military action, should be focused on Afghanistan. John McCain has done nothing but balk at these claims all the while trying to remind the Americans that Iraq should be our focus . Also, that we should relish in the "successes" that we've had there. What successes are those again? A financial loss of almost a trillion dollars, the lives of thousands of American soldiers as well as Iraqi civilians and a more pronounced bitterness towards the US from peoples in the Middle East?

Do not be fooled Americans, September 11th could happen again. Even our president, George W. Bush has recently ordered the bombings of active Al-Qaeda terrorist camps in Pakistan : http://www.comcast.net/articles/news-general/20080911/US.Pakistan/. Terrorists, who have crossed over the Afghanistan border. Terrorists, whom the US government currently does not have the slightest handle on.

I saw today that " secret" footage of John McCain in Vietnam has been released. How convenient, on September 11th. I have previously seen footage of McCain, in Vietnam. Although I am not a political supporter of John McCain, I can say that I regard his service to this country, as well as his years as a prisoner of war, as admirable and commendable. No one can speak out against John McCain's military career. He served this country with courage and loyalty, and that, should never be forgotten.

John McCain's military service to this country is exemplary . However, how long can McCain use his service in Vietnam as the be all and end all of his qualifications to lead this country? If I were to base his merits on his political career, then I would find he was inconsistent, and at times questionable in terms of whose interests he was catering to based on his voting record in the Senate. John McCain, the man who just eight years ago rode around the country preaching " straigh talk", the man who claimed to be moderate and work across party lines, is the same man who voted with President Bush 90% of his time in office.

I am not currently of the opinion that he possesses the insight, open-mindedness and steadfast determination required to guide this country in any political or military endeavor. Being a leader does not mean that you have to be an aggressor. Barack Obama possesses the intelligence, patience and understanding that we need to work towards peace with other nations, rather than to bully them into democracy.

Barack Obama understands how and where this country should be targeting terrorists. John McCain continues to support our place in Iraq. No weapons of mass destruction have ever been found, furthermore, it appears as if they never existed at all. Osama Bin Laden, by all accounts, is still alive.

Which of these candidates do you trust to prioritize our military focus and target terrorism both where it started and where it continues to be? In case you didn't know, John McCain is not that man.
